Care
In a nutrient rich substrate with high light and CO2, this plant will get too big for most aquariums. E. amazonicus can be forced to stay a little smaller by not using CO2 and limiting nutrients in the substrate, but it sill won't be suitable for small aquariums.

Naturally found in stagnant and slow moving water, propagation in the aquarium poses little problem. Plants will regularly form adventitious shots which will yield many new plants.

This plant can be kept as a pond plant when over night air temperatures stay above 50F.
